SunRidge Canyon: Home to More Than Just Golfers
The common conception of a desert usually invokes visions of gale-force winds whipping miles of sand into shifting dunes, with the occasional bleached-out cow skull serving as stark evidence of its harshness. Maybe this is true for some deserts, but it bears no resemblance to Arizona’s Sonoran Desert, that is loaded with stands of trees, bushes and cacti, including the iconic Saguaro. And it’s also crawling with critters like Coyote, Javelina, Bobcat as well as a host of birds, reptiles and rodents. Located in the heart of a particularly lush patch of Sonoran Desert, SunRidge Canyon Golf Club offers one of the finest examples of the unique way that a golf course can coexist with wildlife by offering a place for golfers to play and critters to thrive.
