During the summer months, SunRidge Canyon will be undertaking construction projects that will result in dramatic improvements to the facility.
First, the club is erecting a building on the practice facility to house the new Jim McLean Golf School. This will give the instructors a place to call their own as well as provide them with additional resources to benefit their students. Plus, it significantly boosts the cool factor. The new building, about 1,600 sq. ft., will feature indoor/outdoor hitting bays with state-of-the-art computer swing analysis equipment. It’ll be air conditioned allowing golfers to swing away in comfort when the heat is on, and the outdoor hitting areas will also be covered. Other elements of the building include office space, a golf-specific physical therapy room, a custom club-fitting suite, restroom, practice ball washing and storage facilities. Architecturally, the building will complement the Southwestern style of the main clubhouse.
Second, on the lower patio adjacent to the event pavilion, the plan is to remove the fireplace and adjoining wall where the grill is currently located. In its place will be an expanded seating area offering unobstructed views of the golf course and canyon, a fire pit and a circular counter top and outdoor bar that will serve guests as well as wedding functions.
Right now, the plan is to re-open seven days a week beginning August 20. The re-opening of the practice facility may change a bit since that part of the project requires some heavy lifting; however, it is expected to re-open at the end of August.
The improvements are another example of the Misheff family’s commitment to raising the golf and lifestyle experience at SunRidge Canyon to new heights.
With dates running through the spring, Armand Boatman’s BeBop Revolution will perform on March 1 and the Will Goble Quartet March 15.
