Aerification and Overseeding
SunRidge Canyon Superintendent, Ron Ruppert, announced the Aerification and Overseeding Schedule for 2011. Although these maintenance activities disrupt play in the short term, they’re extremely important tools that allow us to provide great year-round conditions. Aerification reduces turf compaction, increases water and oxygen movement through the soil and promotes root development (among other things). Overseeding allows us to supply green vibrant playing surface throughout the winter months by “overseeding” warm-weather-loving bermudagrass with cool-weather-loving ryegrass.
